await して待ち受けをしているスレッド自体はブロックするけど、await なものを呼び出す側はその待ち受けスレッドの kick をするだけで await になにかやってくるまで処理を止めて寝るわけじゃないので non-blocking ですね

TypeScript の await がどうかは知らないし、await 書いたところで同期して待つかもしれないけど
